This summer The Pit will be reimagined, in collaboration with Rediscover Center, as a fully operational summer camp and maker space rooted in Rediscover’s tinker-and-DIY pedagogy. 

The Rediscover Summer Camp Pop-Up will offer immersive, youth-centered programming that emphasizes early creative development, problem-solving, and awareness around the conservation and reuse of materials. The primary focus of the programming is a hands-on summer camp that offers youth the chance to build with fundamental tools and work on large-scale installation projects. Grounded in a shared belief in the transformative power of creativity, this collaboration brings together two organizations deeply committed to access, education, and artistic experimentation. 

Through this partnership, The Pit furthers its commitment to support the Los Angeles artist community while fostering curiosity, confidence, and creativity in the city’s youth.
